As a member of the New England Police Benevolent Association (NEPBA), you gain access to a comprehensive package of benefits designed to protect your health, your family, and your career. Life & Income Protection
All full-time active NEPBA members are automatically enrolled in Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage through Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company.
This plan provides:
- $10,000 in Basic Life Insurance coverage
- Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) protection, including additional coverage if death is the result of a covered accident
- Accelerated Death Benefit — receive a portion of your life insurance benefit if diagnosed with a terminal illness (life expectancy of 12 months or less)
- Portability — coverage can continue if you leave employment prior to age 60 (for yourself, spouse under 60, and eligible dependent children)
- Conversion — option to convert group coverage into an individual permanent policy within 31 days of termination without medical underwriting
- Waiver of Premium — if you become totally disabled prior to age 60, coverage may continue without further premium payments
- Additional Features — including an Education Benefit, Seat Belt Benefit, and Repatriation of Remains Benefit

Through Colonial Life, members can choose additional coverage tailored to their needs, including:
