NEPBA Announces Launch of Retirees Association, Expanding Its Commitment to Those Who Served
Oct 24, 2026

Chelmsford, MA — October 24, 2026 — The New England Police Benevolent Association (NEPBA) is proud to announce the official launch of the NEPBA Retirees Association, a new initiative dedicated to honoring the service of retired law enforcement and public safety professionals while ensuring their voices continue to be heard long after their careers in uniform have concluded.
Operating under the motto “United Beyond the Badge,” the NEPBA Retirees Association represents another significant milestone in the organization's continued growth and commitment to serving the law enforcement community throughout New England.
For decades, law enforcement professionals have dedicated their lives to protecting communities, safeguarding families, and answering the call of duty. The NEPBA firmly believes that the commitment made to those individuals should not end when they turn in their badges for the final time.
Retirement may mark the conclusion of a career, but it should never mark the end of representation, advocacy, or brotherhood and sisterhood.
The newly established Retirees Association will provide a dedicated platform for retired law enforcement and public safety personnel to remain connected with their fellow officers, stay informed on legislative matters impacting retirees, participate in organizational activities, and continue contributing to the profession they proudly served.
“Those who spent their careers standing on the front lines for our communities deserve an organization that continues standing alongside them in retirement,” said NEPBA President Chris Ryan. “The creation of our Retirees Association reflects our belief that membership in the law enforcement family is not defined by whether someone is actively wearing a badge. The sacrifices made, the relationships built, and the years of service given do not simply disappear upon retirement. Neither should our commitment to those individuals.”
Through the Retirees Association, members will have access to retiree-focused communications, legislative and advocacy updates, networking and fellowship opportunities, and available dental and vision coverage options through NEPBA's partnership with Altus Dental.
The Association will also emphasize mentorship, outreach, and the preservation of law enforcement traditions, creating opportunities for retired professionals to share their invaluable knowledge and experience with future generations.
The initiative is supported by a dedicated committee consisting of NEPBA representatives, retired law enforcement professionals, and public safety wellness advocates, bringing together a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience to guide the Association's development.
“This is about much more than establishing another membership program,” said NEPBA Executive Director Tom Turco. “It is about recognizing that the men and women who built this profession still have an important role to play in its future. Our retirees have earned the right to remain engaged, informed, and supported. As the NEPBA continues to expand its reach and strengthen its services, we are equally committed to ensuring that those who came before us are never forgotten or left behind.”
The launch further underscores the NEPBA's broader mission of strengthening representation and expanding meaningful services for the law enforcement community across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Membership in the NEPBA Retirees Association is available with a $50 first-year initiation fee and annual renewal dues of just $25 thereafter.
The NEPBA encourages retired law enforcement and public safety professionals, as well as those approaching retirement, to explore the Association and learn more about the opportunities available.
Because the badge may be retired, but the bond of service lasts a lifetime.
