NEPBA successfully grieved the termination of Northfield, Vermont Officer

NEPBA successfully grieved the termination of Police Officer Chris Hoar who was terminated for alleged dishonesty by the Town of Northfield, Vermont. The Arbitrator upheld the grievance, reinstated the Officer Hoar, and awarded full “make whole” remedy inclusive of backpay. The Town of Northfield had terminated the Officer Hoar employment based on Police Chief Helfant allegation that the Officer Hoar falsely claimed not to remember an email which he allegedly received three months prior to the accident and that Officer Hoar was also dishonest as to some of the details of a single vehicle cruiser accident which resulted in the total destruction of the cruiser.  This is the second time Officer Hoar was completely exonerated in arbitration on allegations made by Chief Helfant and the Town of Northfield.
