Massachusetts Division of Labor Relations issues complaint against Town of Chelmsford for Bad Faith Conduct in JLMC proceeding as a result of NEPBA investigation and complaint.

After an exhaustive investigation by the NEPBA and Chelmsford Police Superior Officer’s Union, the DLR found probable cause that the town violated a multitude of labor laws, including unlawful cooperation with a JLMC panel member during confidential arbitration deliberations. The DLR also charged the town with making misrepresentations to the elected Town Meeting representatives when presenting the JLMC award.

Massachusetts House votes to allow unions to charge non-members for some costs

The New England Police Benevolent Association’s (NEPBA) new lobbyist and former State Senate Ways and Means Chairman Steve Panagiotakos reports that the Massachusetts House of Representatives has voted in favor of HB3854 by a 155-1 vote margin.

The bill allowing unions to charge non-members for costs of services and representation, action prompted by a U.S. Supreme Court decision last year.
